Heart Lake Sun Room

This small round stove was designed and built specifically for this sun room. The client was originally wanting to go in a different direction. In a meeting at our studio however, they noticed a booklet of antique stoves. One stove in particular caught their eye, and the project changed accordingly. The client loved the unglazed look of the antique stove.

This is the first stove that we have done using a terra cotta clay body. We had to do extensive testing to see how best to treat the clay.

The Heart Lake Sun Room Kachelofen won third prize in the Design/Build Masonry Heater Contest at the 2025 Masonry Heater Association of North America Conference.
