Kam and Julie

Who doesn’t love a big, blazing fire? SHKO built the trim sets for this large backyard fireplace.

This was one of our first trim sets for an outdoor project. Kam and Julie wanted to build a large open fireplace with reclaimed red brick to match an existing garage. We felt that the matte black Kacheln would offset the lovely worn patina of the old brick beautifully.

The Kacheln were high fired to offer greater protection from the harsh Canadian winters. We also applied concrete sealer to afford them an extra level of protection.

We feel that the mix of older brick with our Kacheln works wonderfully in this cozy backyard.
